Here's some great tips to take great pictures with your new Canon Digital SLR Camera.
Do you need more info? Do you really want to step up to the "next level" of digital photography? Check this guide out! It has everything from focus tips and background tips to getting the most out of Flickr!
- Zoom With Your Feet. Don't use the digital zoom on your camera, it does the same thing as your Photoshop "image scale" tool. Get as close to your subject as you can and fill the frame with what you find interesting.
- Pay attention to Distractions. You don't want a pole growing out of the top of your daughter's head, do you? Because of the depth of field that your camera has, you may wind up with some background elements composed strangely.
- Don't center the subject. Sometimes an off center subject can give more interest to the photo. Experiment with the "rule of thirds" where you imagine the camera field with lines at the 1/3 and 2/3 marks, both across and up and down. Place your subject on one of those lines.
- Experiment with Angles. Shooting from down below your subject or from above your subject can give an interesting perspective to the world around them.
- Experiment and have fun. C'mon, it's not like you're going to run out of film. Shoot lots of photos and play with the manual settings and experiment with new techniques. Ansel Adams would be satisfied with one good shot out of three rolls of film. That's one in a hundred. If you shoot a hundred photos, you're sure to have at least one good shot in there.
